On Friday, the 18th edition of Kondenz came to a close with major themes. Our choreographer, Dragana Bulut, presented her doctoral research on the social choreographies of emotion, a topic she has been exploring for years through her dance works. The research was defended at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo, under the mentorship of Bojana Cvejić, and has been published as a book titled Social Choreographies of Emotion, which will soon be available in Station’s library.

The evening program was concluded by Brazilian choreographer Paulina Lima with her performance ORO NEGRO, presented at Bitef Theatre. Although based in Spain, Lima brought Brazil back to Kondenz through her dance, energy, and music, continuing the festival’s tradition of showcasing Brazilian artists. ORO NEGRO explored themes of “extraction” of oil, emotions, cultural heritage, the female body, female eroticism, and desire. It was the kind of dance for which Kondenz has existed for 18 years. Thank you to the Institute Cervantes for their support.

See you next year!
